Darrell’s Restaurant - known for their peanut butter burger (don’t knock it till you try it!) this diner-style restaurant has great brunch, lunch, and dinner

Visit the Citadel National Historic site for a great view of the Halifax harbour and the clock tower which sits on its grounds.

Walk along the Halifax Waterfront and see all of the great restaurants and shops.

Visit the Alexander Keith’s brewery to step back in time and learn about how Keith’s is brewed right here in Halifax.

Eat a donair- with lots of donair sauce! A truly Halifax experience, visit Pizza Corner and grab a donair from one of the numerous spots downtown.

Stop into the Halifax Seaport Market (open 7 days a week) to grab some local treats or presents for back home!

To and from the airport:

Public Transport - Bus #320 operates every 30-60 minutes from the airport to downtown Halifax. The fare is $4.25. Click here for more details

Shuttle Bus - A shuttle bus runs directly from the airport to The Westin (conference hotel). Tickets are $22 one way or $40 return. Book ahead of time, click here for more details.

Taxi - A one way taxi to downtown Halifax is $64. There are always numerous taxis at the taxi stand at the Halifax airport to arrange this.

Around Halifax:

Walking - Halifax is a very walkable city! The Westin is located ~1.5km from the Dalhousie Medical Building and everything is close by!

Public Transport - One way fares are $2.75 for most routes (other than airport- which is $4.25). You can find route information here or use Google Maps to find timings and routes.

Taxis - There are numerous taxis in Halifax, but we recommend Casino Taxi (902-429-6666) or Yellow Cab (902-420-0000). Both of these companies have Apps you can use to order cars and have card payment options in the car.
